{"id":2560,"date":"2011-10-03T18:32:47","date_gmt":"2011-10-03T13:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/articles\/dependent-parameters-in-concurrent-program-2"},"modified":"2011-10-03T18:32:47","modified_gmt":"2011-10-03T13:02:47","slug":"dependent-parameters-in-concurrent-program-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/articles\/dependent-parameters-in-concurrent-program-2","title":{"rendered":"Dependent Parameters in Concurrent Program using Special Value Set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dependent Parameters in Oracle Applications<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Requirement:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Say there is a concurrent program that lets you retrieve employee details based on employee name or employee number.<\/p>\n<p>The concurrent program has 3 parameters:<\/p>\n<p>1.Search Criteria is a value set containing &#8220;Employee Name&#8221; and &#8220;Employee Number&#8221; as values<\/p>\n<p>2.Employee Name<\/p>\n<p>3.Employee Number<\/p>\n<p>When the user wants to search employee based on Employee number, he selects Employee Number in the parameter &#8220;Search Criteria&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Automatically Employee name parameter should be disabled so that user can enter only number in the parameter Employee number to search that employee.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly if the users wants to to search employee based on Employee name, Employee number parameter should be disabled thus preventing the users to search based on Employee number.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/clip_image002.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As seen in the above screenshot, say there is a Concurrent program which has 3 parameters defined:<\/p>\n<p>1. Select Parameter to Disable<\/p>\n<p>2. Parameter \u2013 1<\/p>\n<p>3. Parameter \u2013 2<\/p>\n<p>And Parameter \u201cSelect Parameter to Disable\u201d is a value set that has values \u2013<\/p>\n<p>PARAM-1, PARAM-2<\/p>\n<p>The requirement here is if the user selects PARAM-1 as the value for the parameter \u201cSelect Parameter to Disable\u201d, then the Parameter \u201cParameter \u2013 1\u201d should be disabled meaning the user should not be able to enter any information for that parameter.<\/p>\n<p>If user selects PARAM-2 as the value for the parameter \u201cSelect Parameter to Disable\u201d, then the Parameter \u201cParameter \u2013 2\u201d should be disabled.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Steps to implement the above requirement:<\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Create the below Value Sets:<\/p>\n<p>I. Value Set \u201cERPS_SP_VS_PARA_DEMO\u201d:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Navigation: System Administrator responsibility&gt;Application&gt;Validation&gt;Set<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Enter the details as shown in screenshot below and save your work.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/clip_image004.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Navigation: System Administrator responsibility&gt;Application&gt;Validation&gt;Values<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Give the name as \u201cERPS_SP_VS_PARA_DEMO\u201d and click on Find.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/clip_image006.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Enter Values as PARAM-1 and PARAM-2 as shown bin the below screenshot and save your work.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/clip_image008.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>II.
