Yes, We don\u2019t have to manage individual user accounts for assigning the responsibilities if you are using User Management Application.<br \/>\nIn Oracle Applications, Traditional method of assigning a responsibility to a user is from System Administrator &gt; Security &gt; User &gt; Define form<br \/>\nThis approach works well when we have limited number of users and responsibilities which doesn\u2019t change very often.<\/p>\n<p>Consider a business scenario where you have 3 departments in your company namely<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IT with 10 people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Sales Dept with 20 People<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Purchasing with 10 People<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For each person in IT department you want to assign 5 different responsibilities. In this scenario you end up going to User screen 5 different times and then adding 5 responsibilities for each user. Basically you end up doing 25 tasks \/ mouse clicks (assuming you are not using key board shortcuts :) )<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">System Administrator:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The same scenario can be implemented very easily with few steps if we go with User Management Application.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">User Management:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Demo:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Create Role Category ( erpSchools IT Dept)<\/li>\n<li>Create Role (erpSchools Authors) under the Role Category created in above step<\/li>\n<li>Assign multiple responsibilities to the Role created in above step.<\/li>\n<li>Check User screen for indirect responsibilities section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1. Create Role Category:<\/span> erpSchools IT Dept<br \/>\nNavigation: User Management responsibility<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you enter User Management Responsibility make sure that you are in Role Categories Tab<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem4.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click Update Button as shown above to create a new Role<br \/>\nFill in the details as shown below and click Apply button to save the record.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem5.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">2. Create Role:<\/span> erpSchools Authors<br \/>\nSelect Roles &amp; Role Inheritance tab<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem6.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click \u201cCreate Role\u201d Button<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem7.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Enter details as below and click Apply button to save data<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem8.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You will be prompted with a warning message \u201cUpdates to Role data will not be visible in the application until the following processes are started : Workflow Background Engine\u201d<br \/>\nGo to system administrator responsibility or any other responsibility from where you can run \u201cWorkflow background process\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem9.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once the workflow background process concurrent program is completed just refresh your OAF page by clicking on \u201cRoles &amp; Role Inheritance\u201d tab one more time<br \/>\nSo far you have done everything right you should be able to see the Role Category and Role that we created.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem10.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Assign few responsibilities to the Role we created in above step.<br \/>\nClick on <img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem11.png\" \/> in Add Node section of the above screen shot<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem12.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Search for the responsibility that you would like to add. In this case I would like add the below three responsibilities one after the other<br \/>\na. erpSchools Demo<br \/>\nb. erpSchools Demo 32<br \/>\nc. erpSchools Demo 322<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem13.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Select one responsibility at a time and click Select button<br \/>\nOnce you add a responsibility to a Role a successfully you can see the responsibility under the Role<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem14.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Repeat the above two steps to add two more responsibilities to the same Role<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem15.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Assign the Role to a User.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nNavigate to Users Tab.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem16.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Search for the user to which you would like assign the Role and click Update Icon<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem17.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you navigate to the user screen select \u201cAssign Roles\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem18.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Search window look for the Role that we created.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem19.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Check the checkbox and click on \u201cSelect\u201d button<br \/>\nEnter Justification and click either Save or Apply button.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem20.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Again you will be prompted with Warning message asking to run \u201cWorkflow background process\u201d. Go ahead and complete this step.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Login into System Administrator to see if indirect responsibilities are added<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/erpschools.com\/erps\/wp-content\/uploads\/img\/092513_1037_USERManagem21.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Done.
